The latest and most interesting stories that have developed on Twitch and other streaming services.

Is “Fortnite” Ruining DrDisRespect?

I’m a huge fan of Doc, he isn’t perfect outside of the gaming world but his Twitch streams are so entertaining I can look past the blemishes. However, in the “Fortnite” arena, DrDisRespect hasn’t faired well. And guess what? “Fortnite” is all anyone wants to watch right now.

Lacking High-Octane Skills

Doc looks like he’s having trouble grasping the fundamentals of Epic Games’ battle royale game. The man can’t build structures efficiently and his usual killer shot isn’t finding the mark. Reflecting back, I’ve can’t recall The 2 Time never looking spooked or out of control while playing “PUBG.” But in “Fortnite,” things aren’t clicking for him. It’s honestly a little depressing, think of it like watching a washed up boxer get his ass kicked. But I love Doc, so writing that made me feel bad.

Numbers Tell the Story

Ninja’s viewer growth | www.twitchmetrics.net

As you can see, Doc is hemorrhaging viewers at a pretty remarkable rate–still, an average of 20k viewers is nothing to scoff at but there is a visible decline. I put Ninja’s chart in there because it is incredible how many viewers he’s gained from his pure skill in the game. So, what’s next for Doc if he can’t keep up with the curve in “Fortnite”? We will just have to watch and find out!

Shroud Looks to Be Stealing Ninja’s “Fortnite” Viewers

It looks like Ninja finally has some competition after completely dominating viewership on Twitch.

Shroud has proved he’s no scrub at Epic Games’ hit BR game or any shooter for that matter. The former “CS” pro wins tons of rounds and looks good doing it. Of course, always adding his signature, mellow personality to the high-intensity gameplay.

As you can see in the thumbnail of this post, the “Fortnite” viewership for both Ninja and Shroud is nearly neck and neck. The noticeable shift in viewers could be the precursor to end of Ninja’s impressive reign of terror on Twitch. We’ll see!

Ninja Is, Like, Really Popular on Twitch RN

Thanks to “Fortnite’s” insane success and his undeniable skill, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins is currently giving every streamer on Twitch a run for their money.

According to TwitchTracker, on February 26 Ninja had a peak of about 122K viewers. This is insane considering Ninja was just a tag-along squad mate with huge streamers like Summit1g and DrDisRespect in “PUBG” only months prior.

Ninja’s stats prove if the streamer has the skills, viewers will come despite the personality. This is just my opinion but Ninja is fully annoying. His commentary and the way he condescendingly talks to his teammates him pretty unlikable. But he’s an absolute gawd at “Forty,” so what can you do.

Here’s a highlight reel of Ninja’s:

DrDisRespect Makes Epic Twitch Return

After a publicly admitting to being “unfaithful” to his wife nearly 2 months ago, Doc is back in a wild, new fashion.

Over 340k viewers tuned in for the famous streamers return to Twitch. The hype around this video-gaming stud is real. I gotta say, even I am wrapped up in the  big comeback.

DrDisRespect is sporting a slimmer figure, down to 215 pounds, new emotes and donation/sub audio queues! No more Slick Daddy Club–welcome Champions Club!

I’ll be watching–will you?

3 Best Twitch Emotes and Their Meanings

From spamming to chatting (to nobody, I might add), getting weeb-y in chat is preferred. Learning the best basic-level Twitch emotes to propel yourself into the throes of weeaboo will also earn you mega clout. I will show you de wae.

Kappa

If you are a generic pleb like yours truly. Spam some Kappa in the chat to indicate just how basic and mindless you are. No JK, it’s supposed to indicate sarcasm! Try it out 🙂

CoolCat

Lets say the streamer just pulled off some 1337 moves in-game. You don’t want to actually tell the streamer they did something amazing. Just spam this cool cat. EZ PZ.

DansGame

If you love DansGaming, these is emote will like tickle you. It’s the famous streamer’s face contorted in some sort of sneer. Use this when you want to show some disdain in chat–and be basic AF!

I hope I have shed some insight in the fine art of emotes in Twitch chat. The art is as old as time and and rhyme baby.

Streaming Is Still Hard AF

Despite being the new American dream, streaming is hard.

Git Gud

Being a streamer means that you not only have to perform with the best of your gaming abilities but also engage your viewers. It’s trickier than it seems. Focusing on viewer engagement can bring down game play. Great streamers have no problem dumpstering opponents and keeping an eye on chat. Not easy!

Tech

Then, technical issues can plague any streamer. From the capture card to computer and microphone, there is always something that can be optimized for a cleaner experience for the viwers. Keeping track of all of these potential problems is key!

My Twitch career is in its infancy stage but I’m learning a lot! Will it ever get out of infancy stage? Probably not. Good luck on your streaming adventure.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 Is Around the Corner

Just a quick reminder. Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 will commence Jan. 7th – Jan. 14th. If my math is correct that is 5 days from now. The whole affair will be broadcast on Twitch.

You don’t want to miss this 168-hour, nonstop marathon of incredible gaming. To top it off, the proceeds from the event go to Doctors Without Borders and the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Check out some highlights from Summer Games Done Quick 2017:

What Is the Point of Twitch Chat?

After watching a ton of Twitch, I can safely say, the purpose of Twitch chat is unclear to me.

LIRIK, Summit1g and other famous streamers’ chats go off at the most insane rate due to the high number of viewers. Even in subscriber mode, which is when the viewer pays a monthly fee to the streamer to have the ability to chat, it is still going ballistic.

Are we supposed to have a conversation with either the streamer or another viewer in this storm of text? Should I be expecting a back-and-forth with someone? I haven’t that’s for sure! I think it may need some reworking.

Let me know if I’m being a princess about this–but to me, Twitch chat leaves plenty to be desired.

Twitch Streamers to Watch in 2018

New year, new you. Jump on Twitch and follow these channels to satisfy your voyeuristic video game addiction. Hopefully this serves as a way to broaden everyone’s, including my own,  horizon on how many fun streamers there are out there.

PostMalone

Dude’s a rapper and a goon–but entertaining as heck. PostMalone streams “COD: WWII” and “PUBG.” Plus, he’s friends with Ethan of h3h3 fame.

Beaulo

A big, up-and-coming “Rainbow Six Siege” player. Beaulo’s Twitch numbers are growing and you should be a part of them.

Threedogg

This guy will play through a variety of games. I found out about dogg through the OuterHeaven channel which he and a couple of other streamers play the “MGS” series. Threedogg’s analytical outlook on games is top notch.

Grimmmz

This guy has been streaming since 2009 and is pretty popular. I’ve only just discovered him and I’m a fan. Check him out!

dakotaz

Another great player and streamer. Like LIRIK he doesn’t use a cam. Dakotaz sounds like he always has a frog in his throat but that adds to his charm. I’ve watched this guys absolutely shred “Fortnite.”

Happy holidays and new year from LNG. Check out some different streamers, be merry, etc.
