The original Playstation console has so many great games on it. Sooooo many worth playing. But guess what, make way for the GOAT, which is “Parasite Eve.” This thing needs a remake or knockoff stat.
Forget Final Fantasy 7
If you’ve played “Final Fantasy 7,” you’d notice how similar “Parasite Eve” looks graphically in comparison. That’s a good thing, the graphics in “FF7” are totally unique and charming. Even as I play “PE” on my Steam Deck I can’t help but get sucked into its particular beauty. I can’t believe “PE” came out in 1998.
Anyway, “FF7” got a recent remake and it’s time for “PE” to get the same treatment. Yes and thanks.
Combat
So unlike many of the traditional RPGs out there, “PE” has a less repetitive combat system. The player can move the main character, Aya, around the combat zone while initiating attacks. The departure form the usual static RPG battles is such a welcome one, I’ll tell ya. Variety, variety, variety.
Also, I just love how Aya handles the weapons, which are primarily guns, in the game. All the guns appear to be modeled after the real thing. The icons for each one are very cool looking in game too. Guns in an RPG are just something you don’t see, making the gave even more one of a kind.
So, yeah, this game needs to be remade. Anyone up for it?
